Log Home Staining

log home staining painting when completed
Log homes are a very cool type of house, but they are not without a few things that need extra attention paid to them. Because log homes are typically made of solid, wood logs that are constantly exposed to the elements, it is very important that the logs are treated. Untreated wood is susceptible to moisture and sunlight and, if left exposed, can start to rot and break down. In order to make sure that this does not happen to the logs in you home, we can come out and put down a stain that will help your wood last.

Clear Coats
One of the two, main stain options that we have for wood is that of a clear coat. A clear coat stain is a stain that, exactly as its name suggests, goes on clear so that the natural beauty of your wood logs show through. This stain type is specifically meant to allow your natural wood grain, and color, to show, while still having a protective layer added to it. Once this stain is applied, it can protect your wood logs for quite a number of years, but should be reapplied after particularly harsh winters, or every few years.

Color Stain
The other main option, when it comes to wood stain, is to use a color altering stain. With this stain type, we can apply stain that will make the wood you have used for your home building, look like a different type of wood. If your home is built from maple, but you want it to look like cedar, we can use a stain for that. This stain is specifically used to enhance the color of your wood logs, while still allowing the natural wood grain to show through. Like a clear coat stain this stain type will also help to protect your wood.

Stain Sealant
Once the stain is applied to your wood, and allowed to sit and dry, the next step is to apply a clear sealant over that stain, and your wood. This sealant forms a clear, thing layer, that helps to resist moisture and block out harmful UV rays from intense sunlight. Putting a sealant over your logs is not an option. If you want your log home to last, than this needs to be done. We are happy to be the team to do it for you, and we guarantee our work.

Complete Satisfaction
Because we know we are the best log home staining team around, we will always stand by the work we do. We promise that our stain application will be even, and well done, so that the natural beauty of your wood shines through. We guarantee that we use the most modern tools, best stain around and new age techniques to ensure perfect stain application. If, at any point, you are not happy with the way your stain looks, or are not assured that your sealant is working, let us know so we can come out and fix the issue!
